So, how about not only is today
Jonathan Rhys-Meyers's 28th birthday,

but it's also Rade Serbedzija's 59th birthday?!!!

Thank you IMDb,
For now I can now walk around the campus thinking
about two of my favorite actors,
rather than the fact I have to stay 2 hours on campus
because of that stupid math class.

You're up at 6:30 in the a.m.? Wow! Don't we all have that dreaded math class this summer? Oh, good morning. My math final is this evening. Then as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. put it, "Free at last, free at last. Thank God almighty we're free at last!" Well, the only consolation I can offer is that you're getting the class out of the way now. Good luck.

Haha, thanks, and yeah I think my last class is August 5th, at least I hope it is! So, wait... are you in Jacksonville or still at school? You're confusing me, Brittany. Booo. Haha

Yes, I love that man. NO, I haven't seen the film! I've heard so much about it though. I know it came out around the same time we came to the States, that was a crazy time. How'd you see it if it's not on DVD yet?

So this has absolutely nothing to do with their birthdays but I ended up on your LJ through ONTD... anyways we went to the same elementary school! Bugarska! That was just really random..

I thought that people would start looking at the journal since I made that dumb comment, lol.
Of course, I looked at your profile and there's no signs of the Balkans, so how come all the love for BL & Rade? I'm not complaining, :), but most people have no idea about either, hah.

After college, I spent time in Dubrovnik,Zagreb,Beograd,Novi Sad,Peć,Priština,Goražde,Sarajevo,and....Banja Luka! I've always had a fondness for the region, and still remains my top destination outside of home(Armenia & Lebanon) to travel to.

As for Rade, well----when I went in to watch Val Kilmer in The Saint, I came away with a ravenous appetite for Mister Šerbedžija. : )

Hey, I thought I'd comment on your journal instead of that now-buried "Bones" post.

Macedonia is great! Well, I mean, not economically, but I love the culture. Living there really forced me to grow up and look at the world in a different way. It's my second home now. I had to leave 3 weeks ago, and already I'm missing burek! I brought back one jar of ajvar that I'm sloooowly eating (to make it last).

I've also been driving my folks crazy by using random Macedonian phrases in conversation. They pop out! It's easier to remember, "Pa, dobro e!" instead of, "Yeah, it's fine."

Aw, it's great to see that it's made such an impact on you. I've only got pictures and family members to go by, but I'm sure it's even more amazing when you're there. I have yet to visit it (we haven't left the US since we got here :/), but it's so my #1 goal.

BUREK. Believe it or not, I just finished off the last piece my mom made today. :) It really is quite delicious and not too hard to make.

I just looked at your profile and you seem to be living in FL. This state is filled with Bosnians.. and our stores. I don't know if there is a store in the city you live in, but here in Jax we have like 10. And all include all kinds of imported ajvar from the Balkans. I see a trip in your future... hah.

Oh snap! Bosnian stores in Jax that sell ajvar! You made my day, seriously. I live a few miles north of Orlando, and all we have is frickin' Mickey.

I have a friend who lives in Jax, and I owe her a visit. I'd love to pop into a few Balkan stores and feel at home again.

P.S. My faaaavorite burek is with spinach and sirenje. And I love pita with pickled cabbage.
